Watch your ultrasound on a 36 inch plasma screen TV in real time!
Most pelvic sonograms are ordered when a doctor wants to assess the anatomic structures in the pelvis. These include the uterus, the ovaries and the bladder. Often this procedure can detect fibroid tumors, ovarian cysts and uterine polyps. A pelvic ultrasound is painless and involves no exposure to radiation. Usually the most difficult aspect of the test involves drinking water which helps to fill the urinary bladder so that pelvic structures are more easily visible.
At Hygeia Gynecology, your comfort and convenience are among our top considerations in performing this pelvic imaging test. This begins with the lack of time spent waiting: you are escorted to your sonogram on time, so you avoid the discomfort of an enlarging bladder. Once inside the elegant and state-of-the art sonogram room, the approximately 15 minute imaging study begins immediately, performed by an A.I.U.M. certified ultrasound technician. During the test, you may choose to watch the images of your own anatomy on a large flat-screen television monitor. Both an ultrasound technician as well as a physician are present to interpret the findings; you do not leave without knowing "results."
